The active ingredient in this gel is hydrogen peroxide, which releases oxygen molecules deep into the enamel and dentin of your teeth. Tooth Bonding

Direct tooth bonding at our Beverly Hills, West L.A. practice is typically recommended for making minor aesthetic corrections. For children whose teeth have not finished erupting and whose gum tissues still have some expected developmental changes, tooth bonding can also be beneficial. However, direct tooth bonding is not recommended for major cosmetic changes in adults because the bonding material tends to be rather brittle, and may chip or crack.

During the tooth bonding procedure, our Beverly Hills dentist will briefly prepare your teeth for treatment. The preparation includes applying a very mild solution to the teeth that creates tiny crevices which help the bonding material to adhere. After the teeth are prepared, they are coated with a strong bonding resin. The final stage is hardening the resin with a high-intensity light.

The longevity of tooth bonding is generally not as great as that of porcelain dental veneers. However, the advantage of tooth bonding is that it is a relatively reversible procedure since the tooth structure remains mainly intact.
